Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Senior Pega Software Engineer in Irving, Texas.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Senior Pega Software Engineer will demonstrate deep knowledge of core technical competencies which includes: database, service integration, data streaming, performance, monitoring, etc. The candidate will be a leader that guides and mentors others towards achieving technical and business goals. They will be responsible for understanding the system functionality, business operations, and objectives and for gathering requirements from the business, analyzing, and creating technical designs. The candidate will also be responsible for coding, testing, debugging, and modifying complex applications built on PEGA PRPC (Pega RULES Process Commander). Additional responsibilities include: understanding and conveying technical concepts and organizational expectations to technical and non-technical team members (all partners and stakeholders); providing architectural guidance and oversight to teams; leading design of features; working independently and developing sounds solutions in line with best practices; working with PEGA software to design, configure, and maintain new and existing applications; working on flow design, activities, data pages, data transforms, and case type and integration connectors using REST, SOAP and HTTP; preparing technical design documents, deployment checklist, code review documents, production implementation, and validation and backout plans for code migration; performing log and performance analysis using SPLUNK and Pega Rules Alert; designing and implementing complex user interfaces using Sections, Harness and HTML stream rules; fixing bugs after the initial development of a project is completed; utilizing debugging tools such as Tracer Tool, Clipboard and Expression Builders; updating the design documents for changes in implementation; creating list view and summary view reports for reporting purposes in the process commanders; optimizing and refactoring the code for better performance and ease of maintainability; troubleshooting and
communicating with the PEGA support team in order to resolve technical issues which hot fix from PEGA systems; working on integration using REST and SQL to retrieve data from external database as well as PEGA Database; involved in GUI, validations, Flows and Activities design using PRPC; providing advice on project costs, design concepts, or design changes; implementing activities, steps, methods, and error handling; reviewing the code developed by peers and bring up to compliance with Pega guardrails; takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code; performing analysis on failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvements; improving call support; keeping up to date with recurring issues beyond assigned week of support; creating backlog items to address technical issues; and utilizing the following tools/technologies: IBM WebSphere, DB2 database; JBOSS server, SQL database, and Windows. Multiple positions. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires at least a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or Electrical/Electronics Engineering plus 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Pega Software Engineer, Pega Software Developer, Software Engineer, System Analyst, Analyst, or related.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must possess 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in each of the following: designing, testing and developing applications using Pega Rules Process Commander; designing and implementing Enterprise class structures based on Pega best
practices and guardrails, which can be reusable and extendable; preparing high level design and low level design documents; utilizing PRPC construction and debugging tools such as Tracer Tool, Clipboard and Expression Builders; Customer Process Manager (CPM) framework; developing Web services by using the Rest Rules, Parse Rules, building the XML Rules and Json; and developing rules for validation and integration rules pertaining to Rule-Connect-and Rule-Service. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $121,446 - $155,000.
