Job Description

U.S. Bank Europe is seeking a Risk and Control Analyst (RCA) responsible for the execution of monitoring and maintenance activities within the Business line Chief Risk Office (BL CRO) teams. The RCA plays an important role in risk management by ensuring risk and control assessments are operating effectively, executed and maintained across our European and North American footprint to identify applicable risks and their impact, likelihood and control environment effectiveness ratings, including operational, compliance and AML/BSA/OFAC risks.

In meeting these objectives, the RCA will be responsible for monitoring trigger events, dispositioning changes as material vs non-material and relative maintenance of risk and controls records. The Analyst will perform this routine to moderately complex risk and control assessment activities in accordance with the risk assessment program. Additionally, the RCA will be responsible for performing the following key activities:

  • Investigating compliance of the laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures that apply to one or more functional areas supported

  • Ensure proficient knowledge of the operations of the functional areas

  • Identify and document the process to disposition trigger events and inform risk profiles

  • Monitor key risk indicators and emerging risks to identify potential edits or updates for risks or controls

  • Partner with risk teams to maintain a formally documented and comprehensive risk framework and control environment program that encompasses appropriate identification, assessment of risks with the aligned Risk Assessment Units (RAU) and controls. This may include but is not limited to risk/control record creation, risk/control alignments, desktop procedures, process maps, metrics with guardrails, on-going monitoring routines and issue escalation.

  • Maintain accurate and complete records and prepare statements and reports

  • Other deliverables as assigned by management

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Typically three to five years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Possess a solid understanding of bank related Risk Assessment frameworks and administration.

  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail

  • Proven ability to analyse data and identify/resolve exceptions.

  • Thorough knowledge of Risk, Compliance, and/or Audit competencies

  • Intermediate understanding of risk and compliance in a financial services setting, and associated products, services, and systems

  • Self-motivated, able to work in a group as well as independently

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously

  • Solid business acumen and credibility to help business units proactively identify and address risks

  • Effective presentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications, Archer eGRC, ServiceNow and PowerBI.

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
