Job Description

Job Title: Salesforce Engineer

Location: U.S. Bancorp GCC, Chennai, India
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Level: Engineer / Senior Engineer (based on experience)

Job Summary

The Salesforce Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting scalable Salesforce solutions across Sales, Service, and onboarding workflows. This role partners with product, business, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and compliant solutions that enable customer acquisition, servicing, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Salesforce Development & Configuration

  • Design, develop, and implement solutions on the Salesforce platform (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ, etc.)

  • Develop Apex classes, triggers, batch jobs, and test classes

  • Build Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura components, and Visualforce pages as needed

  • Configure declarative solutions using Flow, Process Builder (as applicable), and validation rules

  • Create and maintain custom objects, data models, and automation workflows

Integration & API Development

  • Design and implement integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs

  • Support event-driven and batch integration patterns across distributed systems

  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems

Solution Design & Collaboration

  • Partner with product owners and business teams to gather and refine requirements

  • Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture

  • Contribute to reusable component design and platform standardization

DevOps & Release Management

  • Participate in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Copado, Jenkins, Git-based workflows)

  • Support release planning, testing, and deployment activities

  • Ensure code quality through peer reviews, unit testing, and best practices

  • Maintain high test coverage and adhere to deployment standards

Production Support & Operational Excellence

  • Provide L2/L3 support for production issues and incidents

  • Troubleshoot Salesforce applications, integrations, and data issues

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions

  • Support platform stability, reliability, and performance optimization

Security, Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security, risk, and regulatory requirements

  • Implement role-based access controls and data protection standards

  • Aligning development with enterprise governance, naming conventions, and data standards

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation, and system capabilities

  • Support adoption of new Salesforce features (e.g., AI, automation tools)

  • Contribute to platform modernization and technical debt reduction initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience

  • Strong proficiency in:

  • Apex (classes, triggers, batch processing)

  • Lightning Web Components (LWC)

  • Salesforce data modeling and schema design

  • Experience developing integrations using REST/SOAP APIs

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I/II, App Builder, or Architect track)

  • Experience with Salesforce CPQ, Service Cloud, or Financial Services Cloud

  • Experience with enterprise integrations (Kafka, middleware platforms, microservices)

  • Experience in regulated industries (financial services, banking, or payments)

  • Exposure to AI/automation capabilities within Salesforce ecosystem
