The intern will assist with a wide range of duties, including, customer service, analyzing data, preparing reports, file management and learning about varied professional administrative activities.


Location: UCMC Department: Marketing and Communications Hours: Shift: First

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate should be actively pursuing a career in Graphic Design, Visual Arts or related field
  • Experience with at least 1 previous Co-op preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; After Effects and XD are a plus).
  • Strong understanding of design principles including typography, color theory, and layout
  • Familiarity with preparing print-ready files and working within digital design specifications
  • A portfolio showcasing both print and digital work.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment

Project Management: Own design projects with detailed excellence to ensure the delivery of premium projects in a timely manner.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather project requirements and objectives, ensuring a clear understanding of project goals and expectations.
  • Monitor project progress, track key milestones, and provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders, maintaining effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage design projects from conception to completion, including defining project scopes, workflows, scheduling, anticipating and managing risks, setting timelines, allocating resources
  • Partner with senior creative team members to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget and with excellence
  • Identify and implement processes improvements for increased efficiency and quality of the creative team.

Creative Development: Strategically develop and create captivating, engaging designs that effectively articulate the UC Health brand’s value proposition, our points of difference and deliver against business objectives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the design and production of marketing materials for both internal and external communications across print and digital channels
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, bringing fresh design thinking to creative asks
  • Keep a pulse on trends in the design space and proactively bring new thinking to the team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the Marketing & Communications department
  • Share your designs with the Creative Director and Marketing leads, explaining your design choices and rationale
  • Revise and update existing designs based on feedback
  • Support in preparing files for print, ensuring accuracy and quality
  • Ensure files are stored properly and easily accessible by others on the team

Brand Excellence: Partner with the Creative Director, Marketing & Creative Team to ensure designs align with UC Health's brand identity and organizational growth goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Own and execute all brand representation by ensuring high standards of execution within design content. Align visual content with the brand’s guidelines, core values and mission.
  • Translate the brand's messaging and values into visually engaging content.
  • Design and implement education for marketing team on maintenance of brand visual identity.
