The Blended Learning Consultant will design, develop, and facilitate learning opportunities and hospital-wide initiatives at the direction of the Director, Staff Development. The primary focus is computer-based training development but may encompass other applications and/or augmenting proprietary application. This position will also conduct activities related to the development and support of the training modules, including training materials and maintenance of training environment. This person must be familiar with the principles of adult learning and a variety of training concepts, practices, and procedures.


Location: UC Medical Center Department: Professional Staff Education-Nursing Hours: Full Time, 40 Hours/Week Shift: First

Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in Related field. | LICENSE & CERTIFICATION: None Required. | Minimum Required: 3-5 Years equivalent experience.

1. Application Training Development

  • Responsible for the design and development of comprehensive training programs for both online and classroom delivery.
  • Assists in conducting learner needs assessments.
  • Assists with all facets of training development—job analysis, needs assessment, program design, delivery strategies, competency identification, testing, evaluation, etc.
  • Works with a variety of subject matter experts in defining application end‑user and trainer course materials (e.g., job aids, instructor‑led handouts, online help, CBT).
  • Prepares specific ILT course materials and documents.
  • Develops web‑based training courses and materials.
  • Creates and maintains templates and components for rapid courseware development.
  • Participates in conducting and evaluating application and training events.
  • Updates, maintains, and redevelops training courses including web‑based training, instructor‑led courseware, and

2. Application Training Delivery (Content/Instructional)

  • Coordinates effectively with team members.
  • Provides learning and application support to end users within traditional classroom settings.
  • Instructs courses in a classroom environment.
  • Facilitates computer‑based training labs.
  • Participates in and contributes to the assessment and ongoing development of training programs.
  • Participates in and contributes to problem and issue identification and resolution.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in meeting educational needs of customers.

3. Training Delivery (Technical)

  • Maintains working knowledge of the technical components of training delivery, i.e., network, pathway, applications, intranet, etc.
  • Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot basic hardware and software problems.
  • Works with IS&T staff, department representatives, and vendors as necessary to provide technical support in installation, upgrade, and maintenance of new and current systems utilized by University Hospital and its customers.
