Creates, captures and publishes engaging content that strengthens the United Way brand, advances organizational priorities and brings United Way’s impact to life. Owns day-to-day social media execution, event photography and short-form video, digital content updates, including Dash, and supports storytelling across impact, donors, corporate partners, volunteers, community partners, staff and United Way initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Social Media & Digital Responsibilities
  • Own and execute United Way of Greater Cincinnati’s day-to-day social media presence across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and other relevant channels.
  • Develop, maintain and execute a social media content calendar aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Create, write, schedule and publish social media content, including copy, graphics, photography, short-form video and other digital assets.
  • Monitor social channels, engage appropriately with audiences and identify opportunities to strengthen connection to United Way’s mission.
  • Track social media performance and trends and use insights to improve content, reach and engagement.
  • Maintain and organize digital assets, including photography, video and other content, in the organization’s digital asset management system.
  • Leads the development, updating and implementation of Marketing department SOPs, including onboarding team members and ensuring consistent adoption of established processes.
Storytelling & Content Responsibilities
  • Attend key United Way events and community activities to capture high-quality photos and short-form video for timely storytelling and social media use.
  • Proactively identify and develop stories that bring United Way’s work to life, including volunteer, partner, corporate partner, individual donor, staff leadership and community impact stories.
  • Collaborate with Development, Impact, the Office of the President and other teams to gather stories, facts and content that support organizational priorities.
  • Write and edit digital content in a clear, audience-focused voice that keeps United Way at the center of the story.
  • Provide live or near-real-time social media coverage at key events when appropriate.
  • Maintain timely updates to Dash and other assigned digital platforms, web pages or organizational communication channels.
  • Support PowerPoint presentations, email content, digital campaigns and other marketing materials as needed.
  • Serve as a resource to staff on social media best practices and help identify opportunities to extend organizational and leadership content across channels.
  • Assist with other Development & Marketing responsibilities as assigned, including writing, editing, proofing, event support, content gathering, vendor coordination and special projects.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS WITH: Interacts with team members across all departments and levels of the organization. Engages with community partners, volunteers, corporate partners, donors, board members, vendors and other external stakeholders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications/marketing, journalism or related field and minimum three to five years’ experience with digital/social media communications with demonstrated results or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media channels and creating engaging content across multiple platforms
  • Strong photography and short-form video skills, including basic editing
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills with the ability to adapt content for different audiences
  • Experience with digital asset management, content management systems or similar platforms
  • Working knowledge of social media best practices, analytics and audience engagement
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to time-sensitive content needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Experience supporting events and capturing content in real time
  • Experience with email marketing, project management, and digital publishing platforms a plus
  • Strategic thinking and ability to connect content to organizational and Development priorities
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills. Familiarity with AP Style guidelines a plus.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that could include night, weekend and event hours
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature, and the like.
  • Open to working non-traditional hours in support of UWGC events
  • Regular travel to events within the regional area.
  • Ability to lift to 20 pounds
  • Extended viewing of computer monitor.
SALARY: $52,000 plus a competitive benefits package (final offer based on level of experience)
