Job Description:
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the finance department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions. You will be responsible for reviewing, verifying, and reconciling invoices, as well as ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle a high volume of transactions are essential for success in this role.
Our client offers a hybrid work schedule with 3 days onsite, 2 work from home and paid parking.
Responsibilities:
Process and code vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
Verify invoice approvals and ensure proper documentation is in place
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Manage and prioritize the payment schedule to meet established deadlines
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve invoice and payment-related inquiries
Assist in month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles, practices, and procedures
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
Ability to manage a high volume of transactions and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
