KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all general accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting processes, including monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and the preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Provide monthly variance/flux analysis comparing budget to actual results.
- Supervise the daily work and closing tasks of the accounting team, provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development as needed.
- Lead the technical accounting research and implementation of new accounting standards and provide business guidance on matters involving significant judgment or complex application of US GAAP.
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of accounting policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to update and strengthen internal processes and controls relating to treasury, billing, credit, collections, aging, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Support the preparation and monthly/quarterly financial analysis of budgets and forecasts, providing key information for variance analysis and information relevant to the operational and financial performance of the Company. Prepare financial reporting packages and presentations to report financial results to senior leadership.
- Manage the annual audit of the company’s financial statements, including reviewing audit schedules and assuring prepared accurately and timely. Track auditor’s needs, assign to appropriate accounting personnel, and follow up to assure auditor’s questions are answered timely.
- Work closely with the tax preparers to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations, and efficient completion and timely filing of income tax returns.
- Lead special projects as assigned (i.e. system implementation, adoption of new GAAP standard, mergers and acquisitions, etc.)
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in an Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience combined with 3 years of supervisory experience. The ideal candidate will have a combination of corporate accounting and professional consulting experience.
- CPA highly preferred
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial close processes as well as internal control & SOX compliance experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a desire to take on new projects, problem-solve, and drive process improvement in responsible areas to ensure processes and systems are efficient and effective.
- Proficiency with modern ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, and QuickBooks as well as Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong planning and organizational skills to consistently meet deliverable deadlines
- Team oriented, results oriented, with a commitment to client satisfaction
