Job Description

Position Summary: Vaco Staffing is leading a confidential search on behalf of a client for a Senior Programmer Analyst. This role entails systems analysis, planning, and programming support primarily for finance, manufacturing, and engineering data control systems. The successful candidate will offer direct end-user support, including training and problem-solving. There is also a need for detailed design analysis for new or replacement applications as required by department management. The salary range is $133k-$157k.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide technical support and guidance related to testing and troubleshooting of JDE E1 applications and processes.
  • Develop and maintain plans for program development, outlining necessary steps and timelines.
  • Design and code screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces with other systems.
  • Convert designs and specifications into computer code and compile this into programs, correcting any errors found during the process.
  • Create test plans and conduct tests to find errors and ensure programs meet specifications.
  • Write and maintain documentation describing program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
  • Offer technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs.
  • Train end-users or technical support staff in the use of programs.
  • Upgrade systems and correct errors to maintain system functionality post-implementation.
  • Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs.
  • Meet with internal personnel to discuss project specifications and establish needs analysis for department tasks.

Guidelines (Abilities, Knowledge, and Skills):

  • Strong planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience across the full project lifecycle.
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate user requests and solve problems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of JD Edwards E1.
  • Additional Preferred Skills: EDI/B2B integration tool - Boomi, Data migration, Tax systems - Vertex, E1 security.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of development experience using JD Edwards E1 9.X toolset.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
