Human Resources Assistant
Job Location: Brea, CA

General Job Description:
Skill Requirements Minimum Experience Required
  • Provides administrative support to human resources functions, including: recruiting, compensation,
  • benefits, training, equal employment opportunity, and/or employee records. Processes HR department
  • applications, including employment and enrollment applications; maintains attendance and employment
  • records, and compiles statistics for various HR management reports. May conduct pre- employment
  • screening interviews, check references, and respond to routine questions on HR policy.
  • Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a
  • specific area o discipline. Works under moderate supervision.
  • Recruiting: Conduct pre-employment screening interviews, schedule interviews and meetings,
  • Prepare necessary documentation for scheduled interviews and meetings (as instructed), conducting orientation for new employees.
  • Payroll: Processing payroll forms, reviewing employee time cards for missing information,
  • entering reported time for approx. 100 employees.
  • Compensation: Reviewing statistical compensation data, comparing regional average compensation,
  • assisting in performance evaluations for wage increase requests.Benefits: Assisting in the explanation of available benefits for new hires, aiding in enrollment
  • process for new hires.
  • Employee Records: Preparing personnel files for new hires, filing paperwork and documents,
  • Tracking employee attendance records, preparing termination documentation.
  • Misc.: Completing employment verifications and unemployment claims.
  • Highly confidential and follow human resource protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of payroll and labor laws.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in fast paced environment.
  • Highly organized and detail orientated.
  • Education: Associate's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Job Field: 2- 4 years.
