The Senior Lease Accountant is responsible for overseeing all lease accounting processes and procedures, including daily accounting tasks, preparing financial statements, and reconciling accounts with the general ledger.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
    • Coordinate and manage the preparation of audit schedules and assist with internal and external audits.
  • General Ledger Management:
    • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
    • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
    • Prepare journal entries and ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Lease Accounting:
    • Oversee all lease accounting processes and procedures.
    • Handle day-to-day lease accounting duties, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
    • Prepare and maintain lease-related financial statements.
    • Reconcile lease accounts to the general ledger.
    • Monitor and account for lease modifications, renewals, and terminations.
    • Ensure accurate recording of lease transactions and adherence to lease accounting policies.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
    • Monitor budget variances and prepare variance analysis reports.
    • Provide financial analysis and support for business decisions.
  • Internal Controls and Process Improvement:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
    • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices in accounting procedures.
    • Conduct regular reviews and updates of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience
    • Experience in public accounting or within a corporate finance department is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
    • Knowledge of ASC 842 and experience with LeaseQueary
    • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
