A startup manufacturer is looking for an Accounting Manager to join their team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing operational accounting and own the month-end close. What do you need for this Accounting Manager role?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- 6 years of accounting experience
- Should have experience supervising or reviewing the work of others
- Advanced Excel
- Must have related industry experience
- Strong GAAP knowledge
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Implement and manage cost accounting procedures including tracking production costs, analyzing variances, and optimizing cost control measures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct periodic inventory audits, and reconcile discrepancies to ensure data integrity.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and internal standards.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations, corporate policies, and industry standards.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Evaluate and improve accounting systems, processes, and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with other departments, including Sales, Marketing, and Operations, to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
