Senior Accountant POST NUMBER: 416232

Vaco Boston is partnered with a regional private equity management firm hiring a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will assist in all financial transactions and financial reporting of the Firm and directly report to the Controller. The position includes a competitive salary with an annual bonus and excellent benefits.
Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller on month end closes, including preparing and reviewing various account reconciliations, accruals, and analyses
• Coordinate month-end reporting materials and other ad-hoc reporting requests, helping to ensure that high-quality financial information and documentation is created
• Oversee Accounts Payable functions and prepare related journal entries, as well as reconcilement of cash accounts in the accounting ledger
• Prepare workpapers and journal entries related to employee expense reports, office invoices, and cost allocations
• Review monthly bank reconciliations and weekly cash tracking updates
• Assist with the completion of quarter end deliverables including workpaper files, financial statements, capital account statements and various ad hoc reports
• Review carried interest and management fee calculations for accuracy
• Ensure timely invoicing and collection of receivables
• Process wires and transfers on online banking systems
• Assist year-end audit process in collaboration with auditors
• Assist with tax compliance
• Participate in projects to develop and maintain internal controls and business processes
• Update marketing materials and assist with investor relations
• Fulfill ad hoc requests from internal and external constituents

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 2 or more years of work experience
• CPA preferred
• Strong academic record with demonstrated quantitative and qualitative analytical ability
• Interest in gaining experience in the private equity sector, and strong ties / interest to the greater Boston area

• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
• Superior work ethic with ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong understanding of accounting
• Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
• Ability to wear multiple hats as is expected in a rapidly growing firm
