Accounts Receivable Collections Contractor POST NUMBER: 416399
Vaco is working with a large food manufacturing company in Newark, CA that is seeking an AR Collections professional to support their team on a contract basis.
This role is fully on site, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. This is a 3-6 month temporary job with the potential to convert to a permanent role in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on department processes, SAP, collections, and deductions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and cross-functional teams, including executive decision-makers.
- Motivate others and exemplify strong work ethics, integrity, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
- Keep management informed of unusual or non-standard issues and escalate when necessary.
- Conduct timely research and analysis to resolve deductions, disputed items, and payment discrepancies, leveraging subject matter expertise to assist team members.
- Reconcile accounts promptly, analyze transactions, initiate credits and adjustments, and ensure accurate clearing of corresponding credits and debits.
- Identify and resolve root causes of order-to-cash issues impacting invoicing, collections, and deduction resolution, driving cross-functional resolutions.
- Review orders on credit hold and take appropriate action to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of contacts, collection activities, and account reconciliations.
- Perform financial risk analysis to update credit limits or make recommendations to management within designated authority.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience, with a focus on accounts receivable preferred.
- Strong technical proficiency in SAP and Advanced Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Proven ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks, and work independently to closure.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals and subject matters in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Flexible schedule availability for month-end close activities.
- Commitment to staying current with developments in technology.
