The controller will oversee the company’s accounting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the production of financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and financial analysis and reporting. The Controller will oversee, improve and/or perform various accounting functions which include journal entries, general ledger reconciliations and maintenance of accounts, accounts payable processing and record keeping, sales and use tax filing, support month end and year end close, general research and other duties. Additionally, this position will be a go-to person for day-to-day operational questions related to Finance and Accounting and will support the Finance team with the completion of department action plan projects including process.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for being the go-to contact for day-to-day operational questions related to general ledger (GL) balancing and accounts payable (AP).
  • Complete daily and weekly recurring tasks which include preparation and posting of GL entries, completing various GL account reconciliations, researching and correcting GL exceptions and generating various system reports. Independently research and answer any and all reconciling issues, and service requests.
  • Conduct recurring reviews of AP processes, including GL coding, accuracy of input and proper approvals, and monthly reviews including new vendors and file maintenance, overrides and other reports identified.
  • Support month end and year end close processes to include preparation and posting of journal entries, completing various general ledger account reconciliations, variance analysis, GL reviews and other duties as assigned.
  • Process corporate card statements and conduct monthly reviews.
  • Review and prepare employee expense reimbursements.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of and provide support for identifying, compiling and preparing various tax remittance to required jurisdictions.
  • Participate and lead system tests and implementations for the accounting function.
  • Complete other routine items which may include various processes such as maintaining GL sub ledgers related to fixed asset and prepaid records, maintaining the corporate check register, performing tax balancing.
  • Serve as a contact point for annual audit and tax filings.
  • Drive implementation of NetSuite system.
  • Assist payroll team to ensure proper posting of bi-weekly payroll including research and correcting of any discrepancies.
  • Filing of relevant paperwork and other clerical functions.
  • Support both internal and external reporting functions.
  • Cross Train and provide back-up throughout the team.
