About the Opportunity:
The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing full-cycle accounting processes and tax filings. You will work with various clients, ensuring the preparation and accuracy of financial reports, tax returns, and disclosures. The role includes overseeing compliance with Canadian GAAP, handling personal, corporate, and trust tax filings, and managing payroll and tax remittances. As part of this position, you will also handle government inquiries and liaise with third parties and clients to provide progress updates. About the Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- CPA designation with a minimum of 4 years of experience in full-cycle accounting.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian GAAP and tax regulations.
- Extensive experience preparing personal (T1), corporate (T2), and trust (T3) tax returns, along with financial statement compilations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with familiarity in macros and VBA being an asset.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as TaxPrep and Caseware.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks and other write-up systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills, with a focus on managing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to produce reports and professional correspondence.
- Bilingual in English and French, both spoken and written, is required.
