Senior Accountant

Our client, a growing company in the biotech industry, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role is fully remote, offering flexibility in working hours to accommodate different time zones. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the company’s continuous growth and expansion, acting as a business partner for executive management. Responsibilities

• Complete the monthly U.S. General Ledger close, including preparing recurring journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations across multiple entities.
• Review and verify the accuracy of daily Accounts Payable invoice entries, ensuring correct GL coding; assist the AP Accountant in resolving vendor inquiries as needed.
• Manage Accounts Receivable functions, including preparing invoices, handling collections, applying payments, and managing chargebacks (leveraging a third-party vendor).
• Review corporate card transactions, ensuring accurate coding and follow-up on any missing receipts.
• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns for various state and local jurisdictions, along with assisting in other necessary filings.
• Assist in ongoing multi-year financial audits, including preparing supporting documents, schedules, and year-over-year variance analysis.
• Support various accounting projects and ongoing process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree in accounting, finance, or a related quantitative field.
• 5 years of accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of GAAP.
• Direct experience participating in external financial audits.
• Experience in an inventory/manufacturing environment with 3-way match required.
• Experience with B2B customers, including large retailers and Amazon FBA. Experience with public health customers is a plus.
• Systems experience: Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar mid-tier ERP (NetSuite, SAP) required, MS Office including advanced Excel, Power BI a plus.
