Vaco is working on a great opportunity with a market leading client as they expand their IT organization. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Engineer who will play a key role in transforming the current technology environment. This role is pivotal in providing expert support for a range of end-user computing and networking needs. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to ensuring seamless IT operations. You will be responsible for managing desktops, laptop, and mobile device support, Windows OS, Apple iOS, JAMF/MDM, Office 365 administration, and other critical IT functions. Position Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Provide advanced support for desktop and laptop issues, Windows OS, Apple iOS, iPhone and iPad support, and Office 365 administration.
  • End-User Computing: Manage and troubleshoot end-user computing environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical issues.
  • Off-Hour Responsiveness: Be available for off-hour support as required to address urgent technical problems and system outages.
  • Active Directory, User Accounts, & Group Policy: Administer Active Directory (AD), user accounts across all solution sets, and AD Group Policy, including user account management, permissions, and security settings.
  • ITSM & RMM Tools: Utilize ITSM and RMM tools for managing support tickets, monitoring system performance, and deploying software updates.
  • Technical Projects: Lead and contribute to technical projects, including system upgrades, deployments, and process improvements.
  • Escalation Management: Resolve escalated technical issues from junior staff, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Coordination & Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members, departments, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project success.
  • Documentation: Maintain and develop accurate and comprehensive documentation for processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 5-10 years of progressive technical support roles, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity. An ideal candidate will have systems, server, network, cybersecurity, or other tangential specialty experience, titles, or duties.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency with desktop and laptop support (hardware, software, & networking), Windows OS, Apple iOS, JAMF/MDM, and Microsoft Office 365 administration. The ideal candidate will also have experience and understanding of automation & integration between various 3rd party solutions. Experience leveraging toolsets such as PowerShell, SQL , Oracle, Oracle APEX, WordPress ,or IIS is also desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead technical projects, manage escalated issues, and mentor junior team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to resolving complex technical issues.
  • Availability: Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and provide off-hour support as needed.
