A Westside entertainment company is looking for a SEC Reporting Director to add to their team. The SEC Reporting Director will be responsible for technical memos, owning financial reporting, 10K, 10Q, 8K, MD&A, and footnotes. To be successful in this role, the SEC Reporting Director should be hands on, have great communication, and demonstrate great integrity. What do you need for this SEC Reporting Director role?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 15 years of accounting experience (MUST have SEC reporting and filing experience)
  • CPA is a MUST
  • Should have a public accounting background
  • Industry is a plus but not a requirement
What will you do in this SEC Reporting Director role?
  • Lead the preparation, review, and submission of all SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other required filings.
  • Ensure compliance with SEC regulations, GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Finance, Legal, Investor Relations) to gather, analyze, and present accurate financial data for public disclosures.
  • Provide guidance on technical accounting issues and new accounting pronouncements as they relate to SEC reporting.
  • Manage quarterly and annual financial statement processes, including preparing the statement of cash flows and related footnotes.
  • Stay updated on changes in SEC regulations and communicate the impact on the company’s reporting obligations.
  • Work with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, providing necessary support and documentation.
  • Develop and implement internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring that all processes meet SOX requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation of earnings releases, investor presentations, and other external financial communications.
  • Ensure the company maintains high standards of financial reporting, transparency, and compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the SEC reporting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
