Vaco is hiring for a District Manager for our clients Northeast part of the country (NY, CT & NH)

The District Manager is responsible to oversee all facets of operations within his or her assigned retail store locations. District Managers are ultimately responsible for assuring the highest level of customer service throughout these locations. A District Manager is a role model and a leader and must solve problems, make informed decisions, and manage the work force to achieve maximum results.

Organizational Relationships
  1. The District Manager reports directly to the Director of Store Operations.
  2. The District Manager has direct supervisory authority for the Store Manager within their assigned locations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  1. Assist in the recruiting, hiring, and development of store managers, assistant store managers, manager trainees and key personnel within a store.
  2. Help resolve problems that affect the stores' service, efficiency, and productivity.
  3. Conduct orientation, train and coach the management staff in execution of daily tasks and to maximize sales.
  4. Coordinate new store openings, relocations, expansions, remodels and/or closing of existing locations.
  5. Ensure that proper channels of communication exist between stores and the Corporate Office.
  6. Review operational reports and records to assure adherence to company policies and procedures, monitor store profitability and manage to a budget.
  7. Inspect premises of stores to ensure that adequate security exists and that physical facilities comply with safety and environmental codes.
  8. Oversee compliance of store managers with established company policies and standards such as safekeeping of company funds, personnel practices, security, and inventory management.
  9. Conduct annual store manager performance and store evaluations.

Other Duties
  1. Perform functions required to assure long term customer satisfaction.
  2. Assist in employee misconduct and conflict investigation and resolution.
  3. Assist with the thorough investigation of internal or external theft and any other customer service issues, ultimately resolving such issues.
  4. Visits each store to share and exchange ideas and experience with
    the store management team.
  5. Oversee preparation of merchandise placement and display.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Mental and Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to analyze and interpret departmental needs and results.
  2. Ability to solve complex problems.
  3. Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures in an interruptive environment.
  4. Broad variety of tasks and deadlines requires an irregular work schedule.
  5. Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  6. Frequent travel will be required.

Education, Training and Experience
  1. Four-year college degree in Business Management or related field with an emphasis in sales and marketing or equivalent work experience preferred.

Working Environment and Conditions
  1. Valid Driver License and flexibility to travel within assigned areas.
  2. Office environment.
  3. Retail Store Environment.

  • the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
