As a Director of Product Management - reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, you will leverage deep expertise to guide client and partner-facing experiences. Acting as the “voice of the customer,” you will develop a deep understanding of the market, user needs, and competitive landscape. This role requires not just executing a vision but shaping it. You will own the product strategy, roadmap, and success, including defining the vision, setting objectives, and making critical decisions aligned with business goals. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will see the direct results of your work, influencing product development, marketing strategies, and customer experience outcomes.
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
- Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for user and partner-facing experiences, ensuring alignment with business objectives, market needs, and financial technology trends.
- Leadership & Management: Lead cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, engineers, and analysts, to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget. Drive a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Market Research & Analysis: Conduct research to understand user needs, industry trends, and competitive offerings. Translate these insights into features that enhance user experience and drive growth.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with external stakeholders, such as retirement plan providers, financial advisors, and investment platforms, to identify opportunities for platform enhancements.
- Product Development: Collaborate with engineering and design teams to deliver product features. Oversee the entire product lifecycle, including concept development, requirements gathering, feature prioritization, and release management.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data and analytics to measure product performance, identify areas for improvement, and inform decisions.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure products meet regulatory requirements and industry standards while effectively managing risks in collaboration with legal and compliance teams.
- Innovation & Trends: Stay informed about emerging trends in financial technology, AI, and automation to keep platforms competitive and future-ready.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- 8 years of experience in product management or product leadership roles, with at least 5 years in fintech or related industries.
- Proven track record of leading complex product initiatives in financial services or trading environments.
- Deep understanding of the retirement savings and tax-advantaged investment industry.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;
- other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
