Job Title: Senior Accountant
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records in compliance with GAAP. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting principles, experience with general ledger management, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting:
- Manage day-to-day general ledger (GL) activities, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Oversee and perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

Financial Reporting:
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to management.

Reconciliations:
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and other GL accounts, to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file Business & Occupation (B&O) and Sales & Use Tax returns for Washington State.
- Stay updated on state tax regulations and ensure compliance.

Payroll Support:
- Serve as backup for payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely employee payments.

Credit Card Oversight:
- Oversee the GL impact of ~35 company credit cards, ensuring proper allocation and reconciliation.
- Collaborate with the Accounting Specialist, who handles day-to-day credit card activities.

Technical Proficiency:
- Leverage existing systems and quickly adapt to new accounting software and tools.
- Maintain a high level of technical accounting expertise to support ongoing system improvements and process optimizations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on GL, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and related accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Familiarity with Washington State tax regulations, including B&O and Sales & Use Tax, is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
