Location – Fort Lauderdale, FL
Position Description
The “Accounting Auditor” position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records, identifying any discrepancies. The ideal candidate will work directly with departments to streamline processes that may negatively impact audit findings. This position will require heavy audit experience and management capabilities. They will play a crucial role in maintaining our company's financial stability and compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a deep understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
Accountant Auditor Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive audits of financial records, procedures, and transactions to verify adherence to company policies and relevant regulations.
  2. Uncover and probe any inconsistencies, discrepancies, or potential instances of financial misconduct in statements, accounts, and transactions.
  3. Manage 3rd party audit request i.e. W/C, Union, Year End, Etc.
  4. Scrutinize and assess financial data for precision, entirety, and uniformity.
  5. Create exhaustive reports that synthesize audit discoveries, along with recommendations for enhancing financial controls, processes, and protocols.
  6. Collaborate closely with internal teams to effectuate suggested changes and enhancements to financial systems and procedures.
  7. Continuously oversee and assess the efficacy of implemented alterations and controls, ensuring sustained compliance and precision.
  8. Participate in the formulation and implementation of internal audit procedures and optimal practices.
  9. Keep abreast of developments in accounting regulations and industry benchmarks, guaranteeing adherence and contributing to ongoing enhancement.
  10. Offer support and counsel to fellow team members concerning financial compliance and best practices.
  11. Aid in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and other financial reports, as required.

Accountant Auditor Required Skills
  1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  2. Proficient in financial auditing procedures, practices, and principles.
  3. Excellent knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel.
  4. Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data and reports.
  5. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  6. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  8. Knowledge of relevant accounting regulations and standards.
  9. Familiarity with internal control frameworks and risk management practices.
  10. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive financial information.

Required Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 2 years related experience in Construction Industry
  3. Proven experience as an Accountant Auditor or similar role (min 3 years).
  4. Knowledge of auditing principles, practices, and procedures.
  5. Familiarity with financial accounting software and systems.
  6. Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  7. Proficient in using accounting and auditing tools and software.
  8. Excellent knowledge of financial analysis and reporting.
  9. Strong ethical standards and integrity.
  10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
