Payrate: $45 /hr (potential to be higher for the right candidate)
Location: East Harlem, NY (Close to Manhattan, NYC)
Onsite 4-5 days a week
We are seeking an experienced FP&A professional with strong financial modeling and budgeting expertise to support and strengthen our multi-state programmatic and departmental financial planning efforts. This role will drive strategic decision-making by aligning financial insights with organizational goals, funding streams, and operational growth.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the annual and multi-year budgeting processes for programs and departments, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with funding requirements and organizational strategy.

Develop and maintain robust financial models to support scenario planning, cash flow forecasting, and long-term sustainability analyses.

Provide clear, actionable insights to leadership through data-driven financial analysis and variance reporting.

Design and implement financial systems and tools that improve tracking of restricted and unrestricted funds across a portfolio of state-based programs.

Partner with cross-functional teams, including program leads and executive leadership, to align program design with financial capacity and funding constraints.

Support financial planning for programs operating across multiple states—currently four, with active expansion to a fifth—each with 1 to 3 program areas.

Build and manage dashboards or automated reporting tools to support real-time budget monitoring and decision-making.

Ensure compliance with internal controls and funder requirements.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Strong FP&A background, with a focus on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.

Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, with the ability to build and maintain complex models.

Experience in a nonprofit or grant-funded environment, with an understanding of fund restriction management.

Proven ability to translate financial data into insights that inform operational and strategic decisions.

Familiarity with building financial reporting systems or dashboards is highly desirable.
