Title: Senior Manager, SOX Compliance & Strategy

Location: San Diego - Hybrid

Salary: $155-225k (DOE) Bonus RSUs

Description:
We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead the strategy, operations, and execution of the Company's SOX program. This is a high-impact role where you will be responsible for driving financial compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement across our SOX processes. You will partner with teams across Accounting, Finance, and Technology to ensure our controls are robust, scalable, and ready for future growth.

Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Strategy
  • Develop and implement a long-term strategy to enhance SOX operations, incorporating automation and process simplification to increase efficiency.
  • Manage the entire SOX program, including risk assessments, audit planning, scoping, execution, and senior-level reporting.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align on objectives and ensure effective execution of SOX-related initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes accountability and high performance.
Risk & Control Optimization
  • Advise process owners on SOX requirements, risk assessments, and control design to optimize the control environment.
  • Evaluate the impact of new processes, systems, and changes on SOX scope, ensuring proper alignment and testing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all stakeholders are aware of and aligned with SOX protocols and best practices.
  • Manage relationships with external service providers, ensuring quality execution and alignment with expectations.
Continuous Improvement & Change Management
  • Lead efforts to continuously improve SOX processes through automation, data analytics, and other operational tools.
  • Support the identification and remediation of control deficiencies, working with teams to develop action plans and track progress.
  • Ensure the SOX program evolves with regulatory changes and internal business transformations, and update materials and training as necessary.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Lead communications with senior management to ensure transparency around SOX program progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Simplify complex topics and communicate them clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure data-driven decisions are made with the consideration of key stakeholders, balancing both strategic and operational objectives.

Qualifications:
  • 12 years of experience in SOX, internal audit, or risk advisory.
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA required (MBA or CIA is a plus).
  • Proven leadership experience in managing SOX or ICFR programs
  • In-depth knowledge of PCAOB standards, COSO framework, and internal control best practices.
  • Ability to simplify complex issues and communicate effectively with senior leaders.
  • Experience in SaaS, technology, or fintech industries is a plus.
