Interim Senior Accountant (Claims) POST NUMBER: 454065
Our client, a fast-growing platform company in the mobility and transportation space, is seeking an Interim Senior Accountant to support their claims and insurance accounting operations. The role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-impact accounting initiatives in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
This opportunity will have an initial duration of 3 months, with potential for extension or conversion.
This position is 100% remote during the contract term, however PST or CST working hours are required. To be considered for temp-to-perm conversion, the candidate needs to be local to the San Francisco Bay Area, with in-office expectations 3x/week downtown SF.
This position reporst to the Senior Accounting Manager of Claims and Insurance accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis for claims and insurance activities as part of month-end close.
- Supervise and collaborate with offshore BPO team members, ensuring quality and accuracy of recorded transactions.
- Utilize claims models to estimate accruals, document assumptions, and analyze data trends.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and assess implications of global insurance renewals.
- Drive process improvements to enhance the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of month-end close activities.
- Support internal and external audits through walkthroughs, PBC preparation, and inquiry resolution.
Requirements:
- 4 years of general accounting experience, preferably with public accounting or high-volume corporate background.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Experience with NetSuite or similar top-tier ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, V-lookups).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
