Salary: $160K - $200K equity
Location: Downtown , Manhattan
Key Responsibilities
- Establish Core Accounting Functions: Own and manage the entire end-to-end accounting process, including the monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Technical Accounting & Compliance: Research, document, and implement technical accounting guidance (e.g., ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, ASC 842 Lease Accounting, stock-based compensation).
- System and Process Implementation: Design and implement scalable accounting policies, internal controls, and documentation. Leverage technology and automation to streamline workflows.
- Optimize Procure-to-Pay (P2P): Manage the Accounts Payable process, including vendor onboarding, purchase approvals, invoice management, and optimizing spend visibility.
- Audit & Tax Coordination: Prepare all necessary documentation and serve as a key point of contact for annual financial audits and tax compliance.
- Strategic Support: Work cross-functionally to analyze financial data, automate reporting, and inform strategic business decisions.
- Experience: 6–8 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
- CPA: Active CPA license is required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Expertise: Deep and comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting principles.
- Systems Proficiency: Fluency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks), advanced Excel/Sheets skills, and familiarity with modern SaaS billing tools (Stripe/billing experience is a plus). SQL skills are a plus.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and detail-orientation skills.
- A combination of Big Four public accounting and high-growth startup or tech company experience.
- Prior experience as an Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant in a startup environment.
