Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Expense Report Specialist to ensure compliance with corporate travel and expense policies while managing expense review and approval processes within our expense management platform. This role reports to the Corporate Travel & Expense Lead and involves close collaboration with employees across the organization, as well as providing support to the accounting team.
Responsibilities
- Review and audit employee expense reports and supporting documentation for compliance with travel and expense policies.
- Monitor aged items and missing receipts within the expense platform, including those related to former employees.
- Act as the primary point of contact for expense system inquiries, offering guidance and resolving issues promptly.
- Assist with employee training, system enhancements, and audit rule updates to improve reporting accuracy.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for audits, compliance reviews, and reporting requirements.
- Address non-compliant expense issues and escalate to management when necessary.
- Coordinate with Accounts Payable and employees to follow up on uncashed checks.
- Manage employee bank account setup and maintain vendor records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications
- At least 6 months of auditing experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- High School Diploma plus two years of business school (accounting or bookkeeping) or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data.
- Familiarity with audit procedures and internal controls.
- Highly organized with strong analytical skills and ability to meet deadlines.
