Our client, a digital health technology company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support ongoing growth and help scale its accounting operations.
Location:
The company operates remote first, with optional access to office space in San Francisco, CA, and occasional in person collaboration.
Job Description:
The organization focuses on improving patient experiences and operational efficiency across the healthcare ecosystem and is expanding its finance function to meet increased demand. This role offers the opportunity to work in an innovative, mission driven environment alongside cross functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the accounts payable function, including vendor payments and employee expense reimbursements.
- Execute key components of the month end close, ensuring timely reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting.
- Maintain and improve accounting workflows, including prepaid amortization, operating expense recognition, and lease accounting.
- Develop and enhance internal controls and scalable accounting processes to support continued growth.
- Collaborate with teams such as Marketing, Sales, and Operations to ensure accurate financial data flow.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, resolving reconciling items promptly.
- Support annual audit, valuation, and tax preparation processes.
- Serve as a backup for billing operations, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing when needed.
- Participate in ad hoc projects, including system implementations and process improvements.
Requirements:
- 4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within healthcare, technology, or public accounting
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and the full month end close cycle
- Experience with ERP and AP automation tools; familiarity with cloud based accounting platforms is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or CPA eligible preferred
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively
- Comfort working in a high growth, dynamic environment with evolving processes
