Technical Accounting & Reporting Manager POST NUMBER: 472403
Location: Columbus, GA
Our client is hiring a Manager of Financial Reporting that will serve as the Subject Matter Expert and detailed reviewer for treasury stock to determine the basic and diluted EPS calculation.
Primary responsibilities:
- Acts as the primary reviewer for deferred acquisition cost entries, intercompany eliminations, fixed asset accounting, and lease accounting to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Owns the approval of all department?prepared journal entries and related balance sheet reconciliations within BlackLine
- Leads the monthly, quarterly, and year?end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting; oversees variance analysis against prior periods, budget, and forecast, and partners closely with Financial Services leadership to support departmental objectives
- Evaluates, implements, and maintains accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP, SEC, IRS, and other regulatory requirements; assesses the effectiveness of systems and internal controls to ensure consistent application of accounting standards
- Maintains expertise in financial reporting and analytics systems, including SAP, BPC 10.1, and Workiva/WDesk; collaborates with Information Technology to enhance existing systems, implement new tools, and ensure seamless system integrations and reporting capabilities
Summary of Qualifications:
- CPA required
- BS in Accounting
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in Accounting Policy or Advisory or a closely related field such as public accountant
- Strong GAAP and US Statutory Accounting rules experience.
- Within driving distance to Columbus, GA
