Benefits Manager

Location: Pasadena, 5 days onsite

A fast-growing, publicly traded biotech company based in Pasadena is looking for a Benefits Manager or Senior Benefits Manager to take full ownership of their benefits function. With a rapidly growing employee population across multiple states, this is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a growth environment and knows how to scale programs without losing the details.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full benefits function end to end, managing all programs from administration to strategy
  • Lead open enrollment administration and conduct new hire benefits orientations on a regular basis
  • Manage vendor billing reviews and benefit reconciliations
  • Support claims inquiries and serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions
  • Play an active role in vendor evaluations and broker/provider relationships
  • Administer equity benefits programs if applicable
  • Build and maintain SOPs, processes, and documentation to support a scaling workforce
  • Ensure benefits compliance and policy consistency across a multi-state employee population
  • Manage benefits within a large scale HRIS platform and support data integrity

Qualifications

  • 10 years of benefits administration experience at a subject matter expert level
  • Experience supporting large and growing employee populations
  • Strong proficiency with enterprise HRIS platforms, benefits modules, and leave management systems
  • Experience with retirement plan administration and equity compensation programs is a strong plus
  • Experience in biotech, tech, or publicly traded companies is preferred but not required
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Highly organized, process oriented, and self-directed with strong initiative
