Interim Director of Accounting POST NUMBER: 472588

Vaco is partnering with a well-established organization that is seeking an Interim Director of Accounting to provide leadership and continuity during an upcoming maternity leave. This role will oversee core accounting operations, consolidations, internal controls, and SEC reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise and the ability to operate as a steady, consultative leader within a dynamic environment.

Job Title: Interim Director of Accounting

Location: Remote (some travel to Michigan required)

Pay Rate: $90 - $110 per hour, depending on experience

Project Length: 6 months

Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly and quarterly consolidation and close processes

• Oversee and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance and effective risk management

• Manage and support SEC reporting activities, including preparation and review of required filings

• Provide operational leadership to the accounting team and ensure continuity of all essential functions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

• 10 years of progressive accounting experience

• Strong expertise in consolidations and SEC reporting

• Experience with large ERP systems (Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, etc.)

• Ability to commit to project duration and travel requirements
