| BE PART OF SOMETHING GREAT YMCA of Greater Cincinnati JOB ANNOUNCEMENT – Facility Tech Location: Central/Campbell FLSA Status: Exempt Salary Range: $45,000-$50,000 About the Position Under the direction of the branch Executive Director and in accordance with the Christian nature and purpose of the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, the Facility Tech is responsible for the supervision of all housekeeping, maintenance, grounds, and the successful operation of the facilities department. This includes preventive maintenance, risk management, building and grounds upkeep, equipment maintenance and repair, staff supervision and development in areas of house keeping and building maintenance. Key Responsibilities: The incumbent must have the competencies, skills and proven leadership ability to successfully carry out the Association’s mission, goals and vision for serving the community. Other important competencies of the Facility Tech include: - Provide overall coordination and implementation of maintenance, including planning and maintaining preventive maintenance programs and annual improvement plans for facilities and grounds.
- Provide direct supervision of maintenance programs and annual improvement plans for facilities and grounds.
- Perform appropriate custodial duties as necessary to maintain overall facility cleanliness including fill in for special events and employee absences.
- Advise other staff on maintenance and custodial issues and projects as requested.
- Provide direct staff leadership to volunteers, including committees as assigned.
- Assist in developing the occupancy budget to support preventive and annual maintenance plans. Monitor expenditures against budget.
- Ensure that all vehicles are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Association.
- Assist with the annual fundraising campaign and special events.
- Update the facility plans periodically.
- Order and track all supplies necessary to keep the facilities and property operating at its peak.
- Develop and implement a risk management program to ensure the sage handling practices of all equipment and chemicals by staff, also to ensure the safe uses of the facilities and property by YMCA members and guests.
- Supervise staff and or outside contractors in landscaping, mowing and cleanliness of property.
- Assist the AVP of Facilities and Property Management on capital projects. Incumbent may be responsible for some of the branch capital projects and coordination of subcontractors.
- Responsible for all banquet set up as requested, for meetings, activities and special events.
- Assist staff in handling all emergencies or special situations that may occur at the facilities.
- Ensure that facility cleanliness is our number one priority to maintain member satisfaction and retention.
- Responsible for implementing systems and supervising staff to ensure that safety and cleanliness is addressed effectively during all hours of operation.
- Assume all other responsibilities as deemed necessary or assigned.
Qualifications: - Five (5) or more years of experience in facility management or closely related field.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 19 years of age and possess valid driver’s license.
Work Environment & Physical Demands - The incumbent is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time, to talk and hear, sit, lift and or move up to 50 pounds, to climb and or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The incumbent must have the ability to transport equipment, materials and supplies to schools. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional use of keyboard; occasional sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending or squatting.
- The incumbent is regularly required to work under pressure and or to work rapidly to meet deadlines, to reason and solve problems, make sound judgment and decisions and be physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to evaluate and solve complex problems. Frequent decision-making and concentration; frequent public and/or coworker contact; occasional working alone. Hearing/Talking: frequent hearing and talking, in person and on the phone. More than 70% of time is spent indoors. The condition of the air is normal/average air conditioned/ventilated. The noise level is normal to loud within an active YMCA program environment.
